Programs around the world are designed to fit their national and local contexts. Community sponsorship programs are not designed using a singular, linear process. In some cases, existing infrastructure and policy settings can be leveraged to build community sponsorship programs, while in others these require adjustment and sometimes entirely new policy tools need to be created.
While there are many ways to design and implement a program, some common and foundational questions arise during the process that need to be answered to build the framework of a new program. We encourage and support local actors to consider these questions and provide guidance as they design a program that is tailored to their needs and the country’s specific context.
