Overview of Training Options

The “Foundations of Community Sponsorship” training tools are comprised of online learning resources and in-person training materials.  

In-person training resources  

The “Foundations of Community Sponsorship” materials include resources structured to help local facilitators prepare and deliver training to sponsors within their own national contexts. Resources are not prescriptive and include template slides that are designed to be adjusted, a facilitator manual containing guidance on training delivery, as well as materials for activities and evaluation cards.  

The training materials are modular, offering guidance for the delivery of five distinct workshops focused on different components of the sponsorship experience:  

Online Learning Resources  

The in-person training materials are supplemented by an extensive suite of online learning resources. They include information covering the spectrum of the sponsorship experience, from initial inquiry, where key concepts and definitions related to sponsorship are introduced, to group considerations such as how to navigate challenging post-arrival situations, to how to prepare for transitions at the end of the sponsorship period.

The “Foundations of Community Sponsorship” training materials are available in German, Spanish, Portuguese, French and English.
