The GRSI Approach to Training
The GRSI’s training resources are informed by experiences, global in scope, and designed to be tailored to local contexts. The training applies a participatory and experiential learning framework to prepare sponsors to work together and with refugee newcomers.
The trainings also emphasize a train-the-trainer approach to build sustainable local facilitator capacity for sponsor preparation and support. The training incorporates reflective activities and discussion questions, giving sponsors tools to problem solve and develop awareness and skills to effectively welcome refugee newcomers.
