Program Design Roadmap
Every country is unique, and community sponsorship programs are tailored to the local context. However, there are some basic considerations, or building blocks, that underpin every program. A program can be designed by answering some key policy and operational questions, but the answers will differ between programs.
Defining the three following aspects can help start setting the direction of the program:
Refugees/beneficiaries
Who can be sponsored?
Who identifies, screens, prepares, and supports refugees?
Sponsors
Who can sponsor?
What are sponsors’ responsibilities?
Who recruits, screens, and trains, and supports sponsors?
Matching
How and when are refugees and sponsors matched and connected?
